PROV has released the new PROS 23/01 Strategic Management Standard and associated Guideline which can be found on the Standards Framework webpage. 

PROS 19/03 Strategic Management Standard has now been revoked.

Thank you to those involved in the Stakeholder Advisory Group and other interested parties for providing feedback on the new Standard and Guideline.

Changes to the Standard

Changes to the Standard are mostly around the wording of Principles and Requirements. Some additional Requirements have been added, with a few of the previous Requirements from PROS 19/03 removed. A high-level overview of changes are as follows:

Recordkeeping requirements must be included and addressed when the public office is strategically planning and designing its information technology infrastructure (enterprise architecture) and making decisions about system procurement, implementation and decommissioning.

Principle 5

Wording changes. Stakeholders requested that "new" be added, as they said people sometimes thought PROV was stating that existing records had to be transformed via digitisation.

New records must be created and managed digitally.

Material in the Public Record Office Victoria archival collection contains words and descriptions that reflect attitudes and government policies at different times which may be insensitive and upsetting
