PROV's recordkeeping policies provide direction for Victorian public offices on implementing effective records management practices.
New Cloud Services Policy
July 2024: This policy was developed to address the need for agencies to manage public records in accordance with PROV Standards, irrespective of whether they are created, captured and managed by in-house or externally provided technologies and infrastructure. This policy is an update to the 2013 Recordkeeping Implications of Cloud Computing Policy and aims to clarify guidelines concerning the management of public records in cloud environments.

New Data and Recordkeeping Policy
July 2024: This policy provides statements addressing the following:
- data is included in the definition of record under the Public Records Act 1973
- data must be managed in accordance with PROV Standards
- disposal of data requires authorisation from the Keeper of Public Records, which is through Retention and Disposal Authorities and the principle of Normal Administrative Practice.
