Function / Content

This series consists of a single volume containing letter press copies of outward correspondence and reports made by the Manager of the Coranderrk Station.
Letters were sent by the Manger to either the Board for the Protection of Aborigines, other Stations and private individuals.

Two types of report are included. These are requisitions (1912-1915) and monthly reports of Aborigines on the Station (October 1917 - January 1924). The latter reports record the name of the resident, their age, gender, racial status (categories used were either "H.C'' for half caste or "B" presumably for full blood) and the days of the month spent on the Station.

The existence of other volumes is unclear.

How to use the records

Recordkeeping system

The letters and reports were mostly placed in different parts of the volume although some reports are found with the outward letters.

The outward letters are in pages 1 - 268 of the volume and are arranged in chronological order by date of the letter. The reports are found between pages 801 - 968 and 1015 - 1016 and are in reverse chronological order. All remaining pages as well as an internal index were not used.
