Description of this SeriesDescription of this Series
  • How to use the Records
Scan the consignment details for this series and identify the appropriate unit/box number.

  • Function / Content
This series comprises black and white photographs (prints) created by the Victorian Government Printing Office (Law Printer) a division of the Department of the Treasurer (VA 865) from c.1887 to 1978 and the Department of Property and Services (VA 430) from 1978 to c.1989.

This series documents social events and the staff of the Victorian Government Printing Office. The major subject of the photographs is of Permanent Staff Association social events, such as the annual picnic. The series also documents individuals who held the position of the Government Printer. For information on the central administration of the Victorian Government Printing Office (Law Printer) see VPRS 9557 General Correspondence Files, Annual Single Number System (Law Printer).

  • Recordkeeping System
These photographs were accumulated by the Victorian Government Printing Office from c.1887 to c 1989. There is no apparent order, although control symbols in the form of a single number 2 - 25 can be identified for part of the series. These records were transferred in a secondary storage consignment, and were subsequently sentenced as permanent. It is uncertain whether the photographs transferred constitute the complete collection.
