    Function/Contents

This series consists of a bound photograph album which documents the construction of the Fisherman's Bend Canal. The canal was built in 1886 and officially opened in July of 1887.

The single volume which comprises the P1 consignment of the series is marked with the word 'Secretary', suggesting that it was one of several copies which were distributed throughout the Trust's administration.

The album was originally located alongside an accumulated sequence of loose photographs which has been registered as VPRS 8357 Photographic Collection. As the album represents an arranged set of photographs with a unifying theme it constitutes a separate series.

The pages within the album are not numbered although the photographs appear to depict a chronological sequence of events. The volume comprises six sepia photographs, two of which are cloth backed and only partially affixed to their pages. The remaining four photographs are completely attached to their pages. Each photograph has a descriptive caption underneath.
