Contents/Function
This series comprises a file containing typed copy of a list of photographs found in the VPRS 8362 Photograph Albums: Alpha-Numeric Sequence and the corresponding negatives in VPRS 8359.
The list provides the identification number of the photograph and the negative, the date when the photograph was taken and the alpha-numeric subject classification code which appears on the spine of the photograph albums.
A typed copy of the alpha-numeric subject classification codes is pasted in the inside cover of the file.
It appears that the typing of the list commenced sometime in 1944 when the photographs collected/taken by Mr J.B.O. Hosking were arranged under subject headings in the albums. Additional pages were added to the list along with the creation of subsequent albums. The entries from the original copy of the list appear to have been cut and pasted below the photographs in the albums as captions.
The contents date range extends back to 1925.
