  • How to use the Records
    This series consists of a collection of reports, correspondence, memoranda and miscellaneous papers of Dr. E.W. Russell. Dr. Russell occupied several positions in the Commonwealth and Victorian Public Service, including positions withe the Public Service Board (Commonwealth), Public Service Board (Victoria), Public Bodies Review Committee and the Department of Minerals and Energy. The collection includes papers collected throughout his career and may relate specifically to Dr. Russell and his duties as well as to the functions and activities of the various divisions and departments of which he was a part.

    The collection is arranged chronologically by the position Dr. Russell occupied. Within each grouping the papers are roughly chronological. The item list provides a full description of the contents of each box and the topics are quite diverse ranging from submissions and decisions of the Public Service Board, Canberra through S.R.W.S.C. investigations of the Public Bodies Review Committee and S.E.C. policy matters. Similar papers and reports relating to Dr. Russell's term of office as Secretary for Minerals and Energy may be found in VPRS 5916, Files of the Secretary of the Department.
