  • How to use the Records
    System of Arrangement/Control

    The cards are arranged in alphabetical order by name of party to action. The case number given in the cards is an annual single number which relates directly to VPRS 5327.

    This series contains reference to companies in VPRS 5328 Supreme Court Action/ Cause Books. The cards index is only a very small proportion of the Cause List Books. The index concentrates on companies either suing or being sued by another party. It also contains reference to other causes, such as the Log Book of the Barque Ocean Bride which was used as an exhibit in a case.

    The cards show:
    the name of the party
    the name of the opposing party
    nature of case
    the case number.

    The index is supposed was prepared by the Public Record Office.
