This is a microfilm copy of VPRS 7153 References to Companies in VPRS 1189 Chief Secretary's Office, Inwards Correspondence. The index was prepared from VPRS 1411 Chief Secretary's Office, Index to Inwards Correspondence. VPRS 1411 is divided into classified headings, where correspondence from a source is entered in summary under one heading. The indexer has looked up in the `Companies' classified heading for each year and entered on index cards the name of each company, the file number of correspondence from the company and sometimes a summary of the nature of business. Between 1851 and 1853 there was no separate companies classified heading and the entries include many institutions, which would not have normally been indexed after 1853.
The microfilm includes VPRS 7156. Microfilm Copy of References to Companies in Action Cause Books.
