  • How to use the Records
    System of Arrangement/Control

    The cash books are arranged chronologically with each account group.

    This series consists of cash books which document the financial transactions of the Department through various accounts. The accounts include Advance, Suspense, Revenue and Collectors Cash Books for documenting the receipt of revenue from sale of publications and issue of Miner's Rights.

    The P1 consignment contains:

    Suspense Accounts for the period 1925-1968,
    Revenue Accounts for the period 1938-1979,
    Collectors' Cash Books for the period 1943-1974.

    Subsequent consignments contain only one type of amount per consignment. See records description list for details.

    NOTE: Units 15, 16, 29 and 30 of the P1 consignment were not transferred to the Public Record Office.
