  • How to use the Records
    One blueprint relating to design of Winch System in the Kiewa scheme-exact location unspecified. Internal and external dimensions of the No.2 Steam Boiler for winch operation.

    The Kiewa Scheme was a hydro-electric scheme on the Kiewa River in north-east Victoria. The project was commenced in the late 1930's. Output was planned to begin in 1942, with subsequent extensions and increase in output by 1952. The Kiewa Power Station supplemented output to Melbourne from the Sugarloaf-Rubicon hydro-electric scheme and was ultimately electrically interconnected with other rural and suburban stations.

    The history of this plans is obscure; it was in the custody of the Gold Museum at Sovereign Hill, which transferred it to the P.R.O.
