  • Function / Content
    This series consists of letter books that contain copies of registered correspondence sent by the Melbourne/Public Library to private individuals, other Government Departments and others. Letters relate to the general workings of the library.

    The relationship of this series to others created by the Library (especially VPRS 4367) s subject to further research.

  • Recordkeeping System
    Entries are recorded in each volume in chronological order. Each letter has been allocated an annual single number. An alphabetical index is contained within the front cover of each volume that refers users to the page containing the particular item.
