  • How to use the Records
Refer to the records directly. Use the name index to parties involved to access the content of the book.

  • Function / Content
This book seems to be a receipt book, probably made in the Office of the Registrar General for the collection of certificate of titles for estates affected by Insolvency actions. Appears to refer to Geelong district only.

The book contains information about the nature of the title, a description, and names of those affected plus signature of person receiving document (this is the first two thirds of the volume).

The final third of the volume, (pp. 317-475) are the documents retrieved from the insolvent estate of W. V Purnell, a barrister and solicitor in practice in Geelong. It has various parties instructing their wills and titles to be lodged with various solicitors in the Geelong area.

  • Recordkeeping System
A name index to parties involved located in the front cover of the volume provides access to the content of the volume. Recordkeeping system is subject to research.
