  • Function / Content
    The Port Phillip Sea Pilots were formed originally as companies under the overall regulation of VA 4179 Pilot Board of Victoria and, from 1888, VA 1424 Marine Board.

    This series consists of letter-press copies of statements of earnings for each pilot for each month. Each item gave the pilot's name and the month, the date of pilotage, the name of the ship, whether it was in or out, a number and the amount of the fee. Added to these were amounts for other allowances and forms of remuneration.

    This series was previously registered as Unit 9 of VPRS 562/P Correspondence Records.

  • Recordkeeping System
    Entries were made in chronological order. An alphabetical index of names of persons and pages upon which entries occur is at the front of the volume.
